Lawrence "Larry" Furtado

Veteran of HQ Battery 1/83rd Artillery 1966-1967.

Lawrence "Larry" Furtado, 65, of Montague, passed away Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, in Garner, North Carolina. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Larry lived in Montague before moving to North Carolina two years ago. He had the biggest heart and loved his "girls" very much. He also loved animals, playing cards, and Frank Sinatra. A United States Army veteran, Larry was well known as a barber, most recently working at Pro Haircutters in the Rockaway Mall.

The son of the late John and Marie Furtado, Larry is survived by his daughters, Jessica Martori and Amy Furtado; his son-in- law, Nikko Martori; his sisters, Diane Hoos and Nannette Furtado; a brother, Christopher Furtado; and a niece and nephews.

He may be gone, but never forgotten. He will always be held in our hearts.

"Rest in peace, Daddy."

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012, from 3-7 pm at Smith-McCracken Funeral Home on 63 High Street, Newton NJ. A prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 7 Ridgedale Avenue, Suite 103, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927.
