Ralph William Pulliam (Deceased January 6, 2017)

Veteran of HQ Battery 1/83rd Artillery 1970-1971.

Ralph William Pulliam, 85, Adrian, Missouri, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at his home. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Archie, Missouri. Inurnment will be in Brady Cemetery in Harrisonville, Missouri at a later date.

Ralph was born September 21, 1931 in Archie, Missouri, the son of Robert Lee and Edith Mabel (Shago) Pulliam. Ralph was a retired U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He returned to Archie in 1972 after retiring from the military and farmed and also worked as a painter for Ben Cole in Harrisonville, Missouri. He moved to Adrian in January, 2016. He was a member of the VFW in Adrian.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters, his wife, Mary Judith “Judy” Stephens on September 5, 1995, and one granddaughter, Cindy. He is survived by one son, Bill Barnard and wife, Nicole, Belton, Texas; one daughter, Ruth Anne Spano and husband, George, Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Charlie D. Pulliam, Rockford, Illinois and Eddie W. Pulliam, Harrisonville, Missouri; one sister, Lucy Justice, Adrian, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Shannon Bohannon (Crissy), LaTeresa Nagy (Herb), Louis Barnard, and Lillie Barnard; 11 great-grandchildren, Samuel, Emily, Michael, Ashley, Tyler, James, Sean, Tanner, Dakota, Katie, and Catrina; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Thomas, Caroline, Titus and Tatum, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
