John Lee Traylor (Deceased February 22, 2015)

Veteran of "C" Battery 1/83rd Artillery 1970-1971.

Graveside services for Mr. John Lee Traylor, 69, of Englewood, CO will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Highland Cemetery in Casper, WY with Pastor Paul Kuhn officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at Bustard’s Funeral Home.

John was born November 3, 1945 in Cody, WY to Verlon Lee Traylor and Elizabeth Little Glendinning. John lived in Powell, WY for a short time before moving to Beaver Creek, Riverton, WY and then Casper WY. John attended school in Casper, WY through 7th grade where he learned a love for music playing in school orchestra and attending music camp in the summers.

In 1959 the family moved to Worland, WY where John attended Jr. High and started high school. In Worland John played organ in the First Presbyterian Church and picked up yet another love; debate. He was a part of the Worland High School Debate Club. In 1962 the family once again moved, this time to Fort Morgan, CO. John finished high school in Ft. Morgan and was very active in school activities. He was a part of Fort Morgan High School Debate Club, Tri-Lingual Club and National Honor Society. In 1964 John enrolled in college at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and graduated in 1968 with many honors including, Cum Laude, English Department Honors, and Phi Beta Kappa.

After college John joined the United States Army and served until 1971 when he was honorably discharged. Immediately after his time in the army John began graduate school at Northwestern University and then in 1972 began law school at the University Of Denver; College Of Law. John went on to begin his Career with US West which he retired from in 1999.

John was a highly accomplished man and enjoyed many things life had to offer. He loved hiking, sightseeing, and traveling, which all presented great opportunities for him to hone his photography skills. John truly loved to spend time with the friends and family that he held so dear. John was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which eventually led to his moving into his retirement home where he made friends quickly and these people brought joy to John’s life every day.

John leaves behind his only brother, James Edwin Traylor of Casper, WY whom will miss him greatly. Verlon Lee Traylor and Elizabeth Little Glendinning; Johns parents, both preceded him in death.
